South Tyneside Know Your Neighbourhoods Fund

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) South Tyneside Know Your Neighbourhood Fund (KYN) - Community Foundation
KYN will support activities across South Tyneside that:
• enable meaningful and impactful volunteering
• tackle loneliness
Administered by the Community Foundation - KYN will help to develop our collective understanding of what works to improve wellbeing and pride in place through volunteering and community initiatives tackling loneliness. Citizens will be able to participate in local projects which build their skills, wellbeing, and social networks.
Round 2 – May 2023
New applicants, and those funded in Round 1, can apply for up to £50,000 per year for up to two grant years (please note that year one grants will cover nine months’ work from July 2023) . We will also consider partnership applications and may also support larger requests in exceptional circumstances; you are invited to discuss larger and partnership proposals with one of our assessors before you make an application.
We can support a range of costs, including:
• Staff salaries
• Project costs
• Running costs/overheads
• Goods and equipment which would not be capitalised
(for example, to develop enhanced physical environment and continue to deliver services)
• Project level evaluations
As part of our grant offer, successful applicants will be required to support the development of learning outputs and approaches that build understanding of what works, in line with DCMS’s evaluation of the Fund.
Application Process
The deadline for applications Tuesday 30 May 2023 and we will not be able to consider extensions for submission. As part of the assessment process, we will either visit your organisation or arrange a virtual meeting to discuss your project. We expect to notify successful applicants in July 2023.
Grants will be paid in quarterly instalments, subject to updates on progress and engagement with the agreed evaluation framework.
