Leeds Building Society Fund:

The Leeds Building Society Foundation supports those in need of a safe and secure home and award grants to UK registered charities who align with its purpose and work in the housing and homelessness sector.

Grants are awarded through small and large grant schemes with different criteria for each grant scheme to make sure funding is given to a range of charities.

Alongside supporting those in need of a safe and secure home, applications must meet one or more of the following funding priorities:

*Financial stress Security; and

*Refuge Quality and suitability of housing.

Small grants up to £2,500 with the following deadlines:

*Wednesday 7 October 2026 (Application window: Friday 8 May 2026 - Monday 7 September 2026)

*Wednesday 2 December 2026 (Application window: Tuesday 8 September 2026 - Wednesday 11 November 2026).

One Stop - Community Partnership

The One Stop Community Partnership programme invites local community groups to apply for funding of up to £1,000, alongside the opportunity to work in partnership with their local One Stop.

This programme is designed to support community groups or organisations operating within two miles of a One Stop store and which are:

*Tackling food poverty

*Supporting the vulnerable

*Supporting the elderly

*Supporting low-income families

*Running youth sports teams

*Reducing and/or recycling waste

*Improving the environment

Hull and East Yorkshire Combined Authority Community Fund:

The Hull and East Yorkshire Combined Authority has announced a £1m Mayoral Community Fund. 

Applicants can propose activities through an online portal on the Hull and East Yorkshire Combined Authority website.

Cellnex Community Fund:

The fund provides grants of up to £5,000 to not‑for‑profit organisations across the UK. They support projects that strengthen communities, build digital confidence, improve the environment and help people access skills for the future.

Your organisation must be:

*A registered charity, CIO, CIC, or not‑for‑profit organisation OR

*an unregistered community group applying through an accountable body.

Heritage Revival Fund

The funding is intended to help communities across England rescue and repurpose neglected historic buildings.

The maximum value is £500k and application deadlines are as follows:

  • 21st September 2026; and
  • 14th December 2026

Arnold Clark Community Fund - Cost of Living Support

With the rising cost of living, more people are facing financial hardship. Our Cost-of-Living Support is available to organisations helping those most affected, such as food banks, accommodation or poverty relief projects, and other eligible charities and community groups.

Charity of F P Finn:

Grants are available for local not-for-profit organisations undertaking benevolent projects in Hull or East Riding of Yorkshire which carry out specific projects to improve the quality of life for residents of Hull or East Riding of Yorkshire.

There is no application deadline as this is a rolling programme.

Although grants of up to £2,500 have been offered in the past, normally grants tend to be for smaller amounts.

Funding Restrictions: The following are not eligible for funding:

*General Overheads;

* Individuals;

*Groups and projects outside Hull or East Riding of Yorkshire;

*National charitable organisations.

Eligible Expenditure:

Grants are intended to help with the costs of specific projects, events or equipment.

The Nunburnholme Trust:

Small grants (up to a Maximum of £500) are available for community groups and self-help groups in Hull for projects that support education, young people, the elderly and the unemployed.

Funding is intended to support projects that improve the lives of people within Hull.  Priority is given to education and projects helping the young, elderly and the unemployed.

The Trust does not have a website or a formal application form

To apply, groups should send a letter and a copy of their annual accounts/financial statement to the Trust.  Letters can be sent at any time and will be considered by the trustees at one of their meetings, which are held three times a year (February, June and October).

Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust – Community Health and Wellbeing Grant:

The fund aims to help connect people and communities to improved access and support for mental health and wellbeing across Hull and the East Riding.

Youth Music Trailblazer Fund

 The funding aims to support young people who want to change their lives through music but cannot because of who they are, where they are from or what they are going through.

Value Notes Two levels of grants are available: *Grants of £2,000 to £15,000 are available to organisations of less than one year old.

*Grants of £2,000 to £30,000 are available to organisations of more than one year old.

Projects should last between 6 and 24 months.  The next round for submissions opens on 31st July and closes on 28th August, 2026.

Kellogg's Breakfast Club Grants Programme:

The Kellogg's Breakfast Club Grants Programme is offering grants of £1,000 to school breakfast provisions, to make sure that the children who need it most receive breakfast.

Wildlife Trust - Green Community Grants Programme:

The funding is for organisations whose main aims and objectives fit with one of the following Fund's themes: 

*Contributing to nature recovery and responding to the climate emergency.

*Improving nature-rich spaces and access to them.

The grants can be used for a wide range of sustainable activities, including recycling, litter picking, beach cleans or sustainable transport. 

Grants of up to £25,000 are available.

Deadline for applications are as follows:

  • Round 2 - 24th June 2026 to 15th July 2026;
  • Round 3 - 30th September 2026 to 1st October 2026.

Guidance for using Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Fundraising

The Fundraising Regulator has issued Guidance on Using AI in Fundraising. 

The purpose of this guidance is to help charitable fundraising institutions comply with the Code of Fundraising Practice (the code) when using artificial intelligence (AI) for fundraising purposes. Follow this guidance whenever you are exploring, preparing for and using AI to carry out charitable fundraising. It is for each charitable fundraising institution to decide if using AI is right for them.

Democratic Engagement Fund

The Democratic Engagement Fund is a new £2.5 million government grant programme, run by MHCLG, giving community and voluntary organisations funding for projects to help people understand and take part in democracy.

The funding focusses on communities least likely to engage with democracy:

* Young people

* Ethic minority groups

* People experiencing homelessness

* People who move frequently

* People with disabilities

People from low-income backgrounds

Sector Connect Hull supports voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations working in Hull.  They offer free impartial advice, guidance and information for anyone who wants to set up a voluntary group, charity or community business, and for anyone who volunteers, governs or works for one.  They work flexibly with a range of people, and can offer help by telephone, email, face-to-face and online meetings.  Sector Connect, Hull are funded by Hull City Council.

Sector Connect can provide the following help/support:

New Fundraising Code

From 1 November 2025, fundraising regulation in the UK is evolving to reflect modern fundraising practices. Fundraising organisations should review the new code and support guides and begin preparing to ensure compliance.  For more information click here

Civil Society Covenant

The Government is soon to launch the Civil Society Covenant.

What is the Civil Society Covenant?

The Covenant is a new agreement to improve and reset the relationship between civil society and government. The Covenant is designed to:

  • support collaboration between civil society organisations and government
  • ensure respect for the different roles we play, and protect our independence
  • support all public bodies and civil society organisations
  • build on and support existing agreements in place at a local level
  • complement other arrangements in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
