Local success stories from the Scottish Borders area

  1. A Positive Start

    The Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund has been transformative for A Positive Start CIC. It allowed us to cover essential costs such as rent and running expenses, ensuring we had a secure base to deliver our services.

  2. Borders Pottery CIC

    The funding has been vital in order to be able to follow through on our objectives for the past year. We had a very clear project that we were seeking to set up in addition to maintaining our existing services.

  3. Champion Skill Share

    The funding we have received through the Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund has enabled the Champion Skill Share Group to look forward to the year ahead, in the knowledge that we can afford to pay for our hall rental and lunch.

  4. Coldingham Brave Bayers

    The funding has so far allowed Coldingham Brave Bayers to run two complete cohorts of our Wild Swimming for Wellbeing programme, significantly strengthening our capacity to deliver our mission of improving mental, physical and social wellbeing.

  5. Duns Senior Citizens Club

    We are a thriving, popular Club and have an ever increasing number of prospective folk’s names on the waiting list, keen to join. We celebrate our 60th birthday in February 2026.

  6. Inspiring Life : Evie Douglas Memorial Fund

    The generous funding we received helped us to organise and present another very successful Inspiring Life event. We have grown from Inspiring Life Day to Inspiring Life Festival which ran during the month of May & ended in Mental Health Awareness wee

  7. Gala Fairydean Rovers Community Trust

    The support has allowed us to offer trips to national football competition for an increased number of Para Footballers, providing disabled people with a sense of belonging, pride and enhanced opportunities to compete at sport and live healthier lives

  8. Brighter Blainslie

    Brighter Blainslie Committee's aims are to keep the village verges, pathways and planters tidy, accessible and appealing for our community. The phone box has been renovated and now serves as a book and toy exchange.

  9. The General Store, Selkirk - Computer Clinic

    Our free Computer Clinic is very popular with older members of our community who are often overwhelmed by simple problems with their phones, laptops and tablets.

  10. Duns Fair Share

    CMHWB funding has allowed us to continue to run our social cafe, community larder and food bank from our premises in Murray St, Duns. The Larder and Café was set up in January 2024. Open for four hours per week and we have had over 4,200 customers.
