Welsh Government Launches £10 Million Programme for Community-Owned Renewable Energy Projects

Welsh Government has unveiled a new grant programme aimed at supporting the development of community-owned renewable energy and Smart Local Energy Systems (SLES). The Ynni Cymru programme, launched in 2023, is part of Wales' broader strategy to ensure the benefits of energy generation remain local, empowering communities to take ownership of renewable energy assets and driving the transition to a low-carbon economy.
