DG for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Call for Common Curriculum for SCV Skippers

Currently, professional qualifications for skippers of small commercial vessels (SCV) are not automatically recognised between Member States. This acts as a barrier to intra-EU trade and imposes additional costs and efforts on skippers when needing to work across the EU. The general objective of this Maritime Affairs preparatory action underlying this call for proposals is to increase the opportunities for free movement of professional skippers. The specific objective is the implementation of a Core Curriculum for Skippers of SCV at EU level.
