Leeds Community Foundation is please to open the Flint Family Fund for applications, offering 2 years grants of £10,000-£20,000.
The Flint Family Fund is a partnership between Leeds Community Foundation and the Flint family, which recognises the importance of supporting community groups that focus on pre-natal, post-natal and early years development for both short- and long-term health and wellbeing outcomes for parents and children.
Key information
- We actively welcome more applications from, or benefitting, people under-represented in our grant making, for example LGBTQIA+, racially minoritised, d/Deaf or disabled people
- The activity must complement, not duplicate or run statutory services
- The fund is focusing on pre-natal, after birth as well as children up to the age of 5 years old
- Applications that focus their activity on the Leeds neighbourhoods with the highest proportion of young children in low-income families are welcomed and will be prioritised
- Grants can part or fully fund specific activity or make a contribution to core costs/standard delivery
- Only one application per organisation can be considered
Examples of activity that can be funded
- Social activities for pregnant people and after birth, that could combat loneliness and support their mental health and wellbeing
- One-to-one support, peer support, linking up with and supporting access to health care, financial and other types of assistance
- Practical support, items and equipment for pregnant people and new parents
- Activities that improve parenting skills and encourage parental engagement (e.g. read and play with children at home or in group settings)
- Activities that help develop children’s communication and language skills and early numbers skills (e.g. interactive, informal, play-based sessions)
- Activities involving outdoors play, accessing high-quality green spaces and healthy eating
