Now open | Driving Brighter Futures Fund

24/06/2024

GiveBradford is pleased to open Driving Brighter Futures Fund, in partnership with JCT600.

The Driving Brighter Futures Fund is a partnership between JCT600 and GiveBradford to invest in projects that provide trusted support to children and young people, and their families. Successful organisations will be improving mental and physical wellbeing and contributing to the achievement of children and young people’s potential.

Key information

  • We encourage applications from under-served and/or under-represented communities across all our funding opportunities.
  • Organisations applying for a three year grant must either be registered as a charity with the Charity Commission, or as a charitable company with Companies House.
  • Organisations should ideally be based in Bradford or be able to demonstrate a good track record and connection with the communities in Bradford.
  • Organisations must have an income under £750,000 in the most recent financial year.
  • Applicants for 3-year grants need to have been registered for at least 2 years.
  • Only one application per organisation can be considered.

Examples of activity that can be funded

  • Design and deliver bespoke training and materials to enable students to take a lead in supporting their peers in their school, college, or university, through activities focused on issues that affect young people’s mental health.
  • Weekly drop-in sessions for local young mothers and their children using activities and discussion to address key risk factors common to single mothers, particularly Black, Asian and minority ethnic mothers and mothers at risk of long-term mental health conditions.
  • A local sports club may deliver complementary physical/sport activities, with targeted one-to-one mentoring work and group sessions, to young people aged 8 to 25, who have been referred internally and from organisations such as schools and colleges.

The above are just examples, and we welcome a broad range of project ideas that respond to the fund criteria.
