Together for Peace are running Climate Action Leeds Community Grants in partnership with Leeds Community Foundation. In this final grant round, we are awarding grants of up to £5,000 to support neighbourhood-based climate action projects, with a total budget of £36,000.

Key information

• We encourage applications from under-served and/or under-represented communities across all our funding opportunities
• Funding can support projects and activities that reduce carbon and/or are nature friendly
• Organisations and activities must be based in Leeds
• Applications are welcome from small constituted groups as well as registered community organisations, with income of under £150,000 in the last financial year
• Organisations that have received a previous Small Grant (£1,500-£5,000) from Climate Action Leeds are not eligible to apply. Organisations that have received a Micro Grant from Climate Action Leeds (up to £1,500) can apply if the grant has been spent and reporting has been completed prior to the application deadline
• Only one application per organisation can be considered

Examples of activity that can be funded

Projects will vary in size and scope, all using local knowledge to enable groups across the city to realise their own ideas about ways to reduce carbon, promote nature-friendly activity and increase social justice. Below are some examples of types of activity that could be funded, but groups are not restricted to these and in previous rounds there has been a wide variety of activity funded.

• Local initiatives to reduce carbon and increase access to green spaces, such creating a community garden
• A feasibility study to explore green energy options for a community building
• A repair and recycle initiative
