JRF Publishes Report on Destitution in the UK

Over 1.5 million people experienced destitution in the UK at some point during 2017. This means that they could not afford to buy the bare essentials needed to eat, stay warm and dry, and keep clean. This Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF) report is based on research by Suzanne Fitzpatrick, Glen Bramley, Filip Sosenko and Janice Blenkinsopp with Jenny Wood, Sarah Johnsen, Mandy Littlewood and Beth Watts, I-SPHERE, Heriot-Watt University looking at the factors pushing people into destitution and the solutions to the problem.
