Rising to the Challenge Event - 26 January 2011

Keighley & Ilkley Voluntary and Community Action, Bradford CVS and Shipley and Bingley Voluntary Services have come together to provide a free one-stop shop event for VCS organisations.
The event will bring together all strands of local support and development from across the three CVSs that operate in the Bradford district as well as bringing in specialist support from other agencies and partners.
The event will run from 8.45am-4pm on Wednesday 26 January at City Training Services, 39/41 Chapel Street, Little Germany, Bradford BD1 5BY.
The following workshops are available:
1. Grants vs contracts
2. How the bfunded website can help you find and apply for funding
3. Partnerships, consortia and mergers
4. Understanding your governing document
5. Big Society – opportunities and threats
6. Understanding how Bradford Council purchases its services
7. Marketing – how to sell yourself to funders
8. How to work with private companies
9. An introduction to personalisation - opportunities for the community and voluntary sector in Bradford
10. The changing structures in the statutory sector - what we know
11. Negotiating contracts
12. Preparing for change – Plan B
13. Social Return on Investment – Selling Added Value
14. Supporting your staff through stressful times
15. Finding and using information to support your funding bid – using community statistics
16. Understanding outcomes, outputs and monitoring and evaluation
17. How to complete the Reaching Communities new outline proposal
18. Working with consultants
There will also be a training needs surgery and information and advice stalls.
