Newlands Enterprise Professional Services Grant Scheme

Newlands Enterprise is providing up to £5,000 worth of professional services support to third sector organisations within the Bradford district.

The support is geared towards helping organisations to become more enterprising. The programme will run until the 31 April 2011.

Some additional panel dates have been scheduled for applicants to apply for professional services support.

The remaining dates for submission are now:

  • Tuesday 1 February.
  • Tuesday 8 February.
  • Tuesday 1 March.
  • Tuesday 8 March.

There is plenty of money still available.

Successful applicants so far include Womenzone; Artworks; Bradnet; Karmand Community Centre; Bierley Community Association; Highfield Healthy Living; Clothing Solutions; Thorpe Edge Community Project; Oriental Arts; The Lighthouse Group; Savacomp; Newlands Community Association; Millan Centre; Bradford Counselling Services Ltd; Lower Grange Community Association; City of Bradford YMCA; BEAP Community Partnership; The Play Network (Bradford) and Newlands Community Transport.

Quite a few of the applications have had to be rejected/deferred mainly because of errors in completing the application form.

Two of the most common failures include:

  • not demonstrating how the grant will help to increase trade
  • not providing clear information on trading activities

To avoid rejection groups should get in touch with one of the following advisors when filling out the application form and they will help to bring the relevant information together. If groups are not quite ready to apply, the advisors will also help them to move forward to the stage where they will be.
