New Voluntary Windfarm Benefits proposal

07/01/2015

Dumfries and Galloway Council want to ensure that communities are getting the support they need when approached by developers. The 50/50 Regional Windfarm Benefits policy has been unpopular with communities and seen as a deterrant to communities getting the help they need from the Council. The Council will now be asked to endorse a revised proposal on 13 Jan.

Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Environment Energy and Infrastructure Committee on 13 Jan  considered a revised proposal for the removal of the 50/50 split of Windfarm community benefit funding, changing to a simpler role of supporting communities that are being approached by Windfarm developers.
