Funding Workshop for Coastal & Waterways Projects
Summary
The Coastal Opportunities Gateway and East and North Yorkshire Waterways Partnership are hosting a free funding workshop called ‘Valuing the Environment, Revitalising our Communities' on Wednesday, 18 May 2016, from 13:30 to 16:30 at the Spa Bridlington. The workshop is aimed at coastal, rural and riparian groups and businesses.

Description
The workshop will focus on funding opportunities for new and existing projects that are seeking to protect, conserve and enhance the local area whilst capitalising on the social and economic benefits linked to the natural environment.
Possible project ideas may include improving accessibility along foot-, cycle- and towpaths; promoting coastal, heritage and wildlife sites; enhancing biodiversity in open spaces and on waterways; or encouraging outdoor recreation and tourism. These are just a few examples to help you determine if this workshop is relevant to you.
Guest speakers will cover a range of funding opportunities, from major national programmes to locally managed funds, providing inspiration and practical advice for potential applicants. Topics being covered include:
- Yorkshire’s Back Garden – Heritage Lottery Fund’s Natural Heritage Campaign
- Tesco’s Bags of Help Scheme
- Community Funds Linked to Energy Related Developments

- Coast, Wolds, Wetlands and Waterways LEADER Programme 2016-2020

An optional networking lunch will be offered before the event between 12:30 and 13:30.
