Scottish Government Consults on Public Health Scotland
30/05/2019
Set in the context of Scotland’s Public Health Priorities and the Public Health Reform Programme, the Scottish Government has published proposals for the creation of a new national public health body to be known as ‘Public Health Scotland’. This consultation is primarily about the functions and wider role of the new body. It describes what the new national body is expected to look like and how it is expected to interact with other organisations and frameworks. Some of these arrangements will require legislative change and will be subject to parliamentary scrutiny.
